Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency provides an update.
Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Director Jen Easterly announced that her agency is beginning large-scale efforts to identify key technologies and strategies commonly used in cyber attacks both in the private and the public sector. She highlighted that quickly learning to identify these “primary systemically important entities” will be key to streamlining protection protocol to stop things like ransomware attacks before they begin.
“We are prototyping a variety of different approaches in our National Risk Management Center … to try and start identifying those entities that are in fact systemically important, and we are doing it based on economic centrality, network centrality, and logical dominance in the national critical functions,” Director Easterly said during a virtual event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
